The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) serves as an interagency law enforcement training organization for more than 80 Federal agencies. The Center also provides services to state, local, and international law enforcement agencies. The Center is headquartered at Glynco, GA, near the port city of Brunswick, halfway between Savannah, GA, and Jacksonville, FL.
In addition to Glynco, the FLETC operates two other residential training sites in Artesia, NM, and Charleston, SC. The FLETC also operates a non-residential in-service re-qualification and advanced training facility in Cheltenham, MD, for use by agencies with large concentrations of personnel in the Washington, D.C., area. This Office advises and assists the Director, Deputy Director, and other senior officials in fulfilling the management responsibilities of the FLETC. ITT collaborates and partners with the Department of State and other federal agencies to improve international instructional development, training, and technical assistance provided by the U.S. government to foreign national law enforcement. ITT serves as liaison and coordinates FLETC’s activities and participation at each of the ILEAs, providing academic, program, and operational support. Currently, aside from providing instructors for each ILEA’s core and specialized programs, FLETC also has an assigned Director at ILEA San Salvador and ILEA Gaborone. These Directors are responsible for the facility and management of all academic areas of the academy.
The FLETC has oversight and program management responsibility for the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Gaborone, Botswana; San Salvador, El Salvador; and Lima, Peru. The FLETC also supports training at other ILEAs in Hungary and Thailand.

FLETC International
Glynco
The FLETC Glynco campus is located equidistant between Savannah, GA, and Jacksonville, FL. The Center is actually a town unto itself with its own zip code (31524). It is known as Glynco, GA, and is located on the northwestern edge of Brunswick, GA.
Glynco is the headquarters facility for the FLETC. It is situated on 1,600 acres in southeast Georgia with modern conventional facilities such as classrooms, dormitories, and administrative and logistical support structures, including a dining hall capable of serving more than 4,000 meals per day. Additionally, Glynco has 18 firearms ranges, including a state-of-the-art indoor range complex with 146 separate firing points; and eight highly versatile semi-enclosed ranges with 200 additional firing points. Other training assets include a sprawling complex of driver training ranges, a physical techniques facility, explosives range, fully functional mock port of entry, and numerous other structures which support the entire training effort.
Among these is a 34-building "neighborhood" practical exercise area, which includes houses equipped with video cameras for recording various kinds of practical exercises.
The classroom buildings house various special purpose areas including a library, interviewing suites, mock court rooms, computer forensics laboratories, and other laboratories for fingerprinting and identifying narcotics.
Glynco’s physical techniques complex encompasses over three acres, including mat rooms, classrooms, weight rooms, gymnasium, and other facilities devoted to training and fitness.
Plans are currently under way to build and expand facilities at Glynco to conduct a wide array of programs to support the Homeland Security mission.

Artesia
The FLETC Artesia campus is located in Artesia, NM. Artesia is midway between Roswell and Carlsbad in southeastern New Mexico. It is approximately 40 miles south of Roswell, NM. The training center is located at 1300 West Richey Avenue in Artesia. This campus can be reached by auto or bus. The closest airline service is available at Roswell, where several commuter lines provide flights (Mesa Airlines and Lone Star Airlines). The closest major airport is in El Paso, TX, which is approximately a 3 hour drive.

Cheltenham
Cheltenham is approximately 14 miles southeast of Washington, D.C., easily accessible by all modes of transportation. The facility is located 6 miles from Interstate 495 and is a 30-minute drive from Reagan National Airport. The area abounds with landmarks and attractions, including, of course, the nation’s capital, Chesapeake Bay, northern Virginia, and Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

FLETC International
The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) is a component within the Department of Homeland Security. Established in 1970 as a consolidated federal law enforcement training facility to provide basic and advanced law enforcement training to U.S. federal agencies, FLETC’s mission was later expanded to include state & local and international training. As the largest law enforcement training facility in the United States, FLETC today trains personnel for more than eighty U.S. federal agencies as well as state, local, and international law enforcement agencies.
The International Training and Technical Assistance Division (ITT) develops, coordinates, manages, and delivers FLETC international training and technical assistance that promotes, manages, and delivers FLETC international training and technical assistance that promotes the rule of law and supports U.S. foreign policy. FLETC’s international programs help build the law enforcement capacity of friendly nations, fostering improved coordination and cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security and other U.S. law enforcement agencies in the worldwide fight against terrorism and other transnational crimes.
International Law Enforcement Academies
Since 1995, FLETC has participated in the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) Program. Over the years, academies have been established in Hungary, Thailand, Botswana, and El Salvador.
